In January we went to the Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad and learned about different musical instruments.
In February Sandy Kanczuzewski spoke to our support group about Government Services for people with developmental disabilities. We started a facilitated social skills group for children and adults, while their parents attended the meeting.
In March we had a Spa Day for Special Needs moms and our College of Adaptive Education completed an Introduction to American Sign Language Class
April and May
Support Group meetings in April and May were about the ABLE Act and Citizens Viticulture in Temecula, respectively
In June our Support Group meeting focused on Healthy Eating and the College of Adaptive Education completed a Wire Sculpture Class. The wire sculptures were later in the year on display in a CAE student exhibit at Z Cafe. Our Special Olympics Basketball team participated in a game with community leaders and in Special Olympic Regional Finals.
In July we had a social at Neill Ketchum’s house complete with goats!
In August we went to Oceanside Beach for a Beach Bonfire!
In September we had the World of Color Gala at NorthCoast Church.
In October we had a pumpkin-carving party. Our CAE students also assembled Jeremiah’s Ranch 2018 Calendar.
In November we had a Village Block Party at Z Cafe and a craft day making ornaments. We had another graduating class for An Introduction to American Sign Language.
In December we had a Wine and Art Party and Santa Claus came to visit!
